No More Karl Roves - From EITHER SIDE !!!

When Bill Clinton won the White House for his first term in 1992 - thanks in large part to the brilliant campaign tactics seen in the documentary movie "The War Room" - he offered James Carville a job similar to that which Dubya gave to Karl Rove. Carville declined the offer, saying that (paraphrasing) "political hacks should stop at the White House door". Carville realized that political considerations shouldn't be the primary concern when governing, only when campaigning.

I don't like to agree with James Carville because he too often defines things downwards - he seems to think that the American people are just too gawl-danged stoopid to understand complex concepts - and he very well may be right - I just don't like it.

Nonetheless, I GENERALLY agree with him on the oversimplification that there are two distinct types of people in government - those two types being; (1) political hacks and (2) propeller-heads. The political hacks should be in charge of winning elections, the propeller heads should be in charge of governing. It's a distinction without a difference to the GOP but it's an important one to people like me. It's a differentiation between the jobs of POLICIES and POLITICS.

I hope that the Democrats will NEVER appoint another cabinet level "Political Advisor" and embed him or her two just doors down from the Oval Office. It's been an apocalyptic-level disaster thus far. I don't think that there's any case to be made that it's worked-out well for anyone except the criminally minded and the greedy, be they corporate, religious or individual RiGht-WiNg- Ba$tard$. We don't need any more spin from the doctors, especially any more right-wing imitations of Dr. Goebbels.

...and when I say "we" don't need such things, I don't mean "we democrats" or "we liberals" or even "we Americans", I mean "we decent human beings".
