Is Senator Obama's Campaign Hinting (in the press) about Offering John Edwards the Top Job at the U.S. Justice Department?

This story apparently originated from Robert Novak - so who knows - he bats around .250 - when it comes to his honesty / dishonesty ratio - so, with multiple large grains of salt at the ready:

Assuming for the moment that it's true - John Edwards was practically MADE for this job - plus - he's basically been campaigning for President by promising to be a great U.S. Attorney General - and - besides Eliot Spitzer, who has already taken a job in one of those small blue states up north - who else could be trusted with the task of going after corporate white-collar criminals and reforming / reversing the last 20 years of "privatizing"-embezzlement and corporate Republican looting of the common wealth? John Edwards really IS the only man fit for this job. Now, if we can just get Al Gore to be President Obama's V.P. and if we can get Ralph Nader to promise to keep his mouth shut by giving him a great job - like running the consumer protection agency - we'd finally have something approaching a real democracy.

The next question would be - Michael Moore or Rachel Maddow for White House press spokesman?

Senator Hillary Clinton needs to go back to the U.S Senate and sit quietly, respectfully and studiously at the feet of Senator Ted Kennedy, she needs to put some space between herself and the Unholy Tag-Team Combo of Bill Clinton / George H.W. Bush - AND the DLC's corrosive Karl Rove-styled campaign tactics - these people and these tactics are NOT what the voters are looking for and they've been a bad influence on Senator Clinton - and on her political positions. Senator Hillary Clinton needs to go back to the Senate and RE-LEARN what it means to be a REAL DEMOCRAT - she absolutely has to do that before she can ever hope to be seriously considered as a Democratic Candidate for the Presidency. OK, let's start with this; judging from the number of available photographs, we know that George Bush SENIOR's best friends are (in order of bestest to least bestest friendships) 1. The Saudi Royal Family 2. The bin Laden Family and 3. The Clinton Family, namely Bill and Hillary. (To her credit, I've never seen a picture of Chelsea kickin' back with George H. W. Bush (aka: "George The Elected") and whenever she runs for office, she'll probably have my vote. That'll be the next and probably the last Clinton that I'll support for elected office.

If you agree with what Hillary says in her stump-speech, that 'change is just a word', then you should vote for her.

However, if you agree with me, most of the free-thinking citizens of the non-Bush/Clinton brainwashed planet and a certain Harvard educated constitutional law expert and law professor, Senator Barack Obama - that change has a real definion - then you should vote for Senator Obama.

The Owens Top-of-the-Iris-Rule

If you don't, then Google "runaway bride" and look at her eyes.

I have a general rule that I call "The Owens Top-of-the-Iris Rule" or "The Iris Apex Rule". (*Notice: I call 'trademark', no stealing the phrase without giving me credit!) This rule basically implies that bad things are about to happen to - or near people who are photographed, with increasing frequency, with their eyes cranked so widely opened that you can actually see the top of their iris. It's a facial expression that says "Dammit. I forgot to take my meds again this morning." It's the same look you'd have on your face if you suddenly woke-up and discovered that your normal, every day life had ended and that you were now the lead character in the a Clive Barker movie.

I haven't done any serious research on the supposition, I haven't collected or collated any statistics, in actuality, this is really more of a theory than a rule. I'm just hypothesizing this rule based on my own personal visual observations and my own extrapolated hypothetical proposition that, if I were about to plowed down by a tandem axle 18 wheel gravel truck, for instance, one would quite likely be able to see the top of my iris about a half a second before the truck impacts my face.

Try this highly scientific experiment: Go into your bathroom, drop your pants, stare into the bathroom mirror with your face about 12 inches from the glass and stick a straight pin into your buttocks. Compare the expression on your face to any of these pictures.

If the Senator from New York DIDN'T KNOW THAT - then we've got a serious IQ problem.

...and speaking of hindsight, John Edwards understands the value of learning from your mistakes, admitting them and changing directions when you get new information.

HILLARY CLINTON IS JUST EXACTLY LIKE GEORGE W. BUSH on that particular life-lesson - and this is a lesson that the rest of us learned in kindergarten - or even earlier. I have no problem with on-the-job training - but going all the way back to potty training-level course work - on Innauguration Day - is just a bad idea. Gold Star Father Kicked Defending Dead Son's Memorial

by Mélida Arredondo - Mélida Arredondo is the stepmother of Lance Cpl. Alexander S. Arredondo, killed in Iraq, Aug. 25, 2004.

Carlos Arredondo, 47 year old father of two sons, arrived in the nation's capitol on Monday, 09/10/07 to share a memorial he has made to honor for his eldest son, Alex. Carlos has visited thirty of the United States with the traveling memorial to his son Alexander. Lcpl. Alexander S. Arredondo, USMC was killed on 08/25/04. He was 20 years and 20 days old. The memorial consists of a casket, poster- size photographs of Alex when he graduated from boot camp, before his second tour in Iraq, lying in state at his wake, and a photo of Alex with his younger brother Brian.

Saturday, September 15, 2007 consisted of first a rally, a march towards the capitol and then a die-in. Carlos pulled the memorial along the march route approaching the rotunda near the capitol building. Several of the marchers requested for him to speak about the memorial where a crowd gathered around him. After finishing, several people walked with Carlos as he pulled the memorial. Several pictures of Alex dressed in his blues were attached to the display.

As Carlos passed counter protesters, one man ripped a picture of Alex from the memorial. Carlos leaped on the man to retrieve the picture. It was at that point that approximately five others all began to attack Carlos by kicking him in the head, legs, stomach and back.

The Capitol police bicycle patrol then appeared to break up the fight. Several officers including a female officer were engaged in breaking up the fight and were able to stop any further injuries from occurring. Hannah Jones who was walking with Carlos was also assaulted.

A bystander named Ramesh witnessed the whole encounter and also retrieved the picture of Alex for Carlos. He was quite distressed at how he watched the men yelling epithets follow Carlos as he pulled the memorial, and eventually take Alex's photograph. Soon, an ambulance showed up as well as many concerned activists. The paramedics provided first aid to Carlos but he did not seek further medical attention. Carlos sustained bloody cuts on his shins. He also reported bruises all over his torso and head where he was kicked.

I will send updates on Carlos and his work in DC as I am able.

I didn't hear EVEN ONE CORRECT ASSERTION in his little Old Timey Radio "Jesus wants a bunch of your kids dead" big ol' FM radio broadcast full of lies. ...not one thing he said was true, accurate or correct.

To start off, al Qaeda is NOT a Shiite Muslim movement, it's Sunni. Usama bin Laden is a Sunni. THAT should come as a big, massive HUGE revelation to Dick Land's mindlessly hordes of ignorant listeners and followers.

This is yet another exercise in the applied science of the use of false binary equations to achieve a desired, pre-determined result. The 'fair and balanced' debate is framed in a way which is carefully designed to give you a contrived choice between two incorrect, incomplete or non-applicable answers, kinda' like "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists" or being forced to choose between two Presidential candidates every four years, based COMPLETELY on a childish "smart vs. strong" push-poll.

The fact is that, in all of these situations, the two concepts aren't mutually exclusive. Clinical studies, scientific research, commonly quoted statistics and even your own every day observations show you the obvious truths; that smart people are NOT weaker than stupid people, that you CAN oppose bad American leaders without joining Al Qaeda or any other right-wing Army of God, that the Republicans really DO cheat elections on a size, scope and scale that defies the public's severely limited comprehension, but that Republicans DO NOT cheat because they have to, they do it because they like to cheat. The Republicans are criminals. (Duh!)

But the saddest of the factual non-exclusive assertions above ALSO remains just as true: Sometimes, on certain subjects, the American people really ARE pretty goddamned stupid.

When Bill Clinton won the White House for his first term in 1992 - thanks in large part to the brilliant campaign tactics seen in the documentary movie "The War Room" - he offered James Carville a job similar to that which Dubya gave to Karl Rove. Carville declined the offer, saying that (paraphrasing) "political hacks should stop at the White House door". Carville realized that political considerations shouldn't be the primary concern when governing, only when campaigning.

I don't like to agree with James Carville because he too often defines things downwards - he seems to think that the American people are just too gawl-danged stoopid to understand complex concepts - and he very well may be right - I just don't like it.

Nonetheless, I GENERALLY agree with him on the oversimplification that there are two distinct types of people in government - those two types being; (1) political hacks and (2) propeller-heads. The political hacks should be in charge of winning elections, the propeller heads should be in charge of governing. It's a distinction without a difference to the GOP but it's an important one to people like me. It's a differentiation between the jobs of POLICIES and POLITICS.

I hope that the Democrats will NEVER appoint another cabinet level "Political Advisor" and embed him or her two just doors down from the Oval Office. It's been an apocalyptic-level disaster thus far. I don't think that there's any case to be made that it's worked-out well for anyone except the criminally minded and the greedy, be they corporate, religious or individual RiGht-WiNg- Ba$tard$. Speaking at The Panetta Institute recently with Bill O'Reilly, James Carville made the off-handed comment that Hillary's campaign would benefit from being closely associated with the former President of the United States of America, William Jefferson Clinton, who is "the most popular man on earth".

Of course, Bill O'Reilly rolled his eyes and about a third of the members of the audience reacted by snickering, laughing and/or moaning, to which James Mr. Carville responded: (paraphrasing)

"Moan and laugh all you want, it happens to be a fact. Maybe that should be the one thing that you take home with you tonight: That some things are just 100% objectively, factually true - even if you don't want them to be. As displeasing as it may be to some of us, global warming is not a liberal myth made up by Al Gore and the Democratic Party, FOX News in not fair and balanced, the Earth is not 5000 years old and President Clinton is the most popular man on Earth. Get over it."

Over the course of the last six or seven years, I've become such a far-left liberal, just barely finding any room left to stand on the very furthest outer fringes of the Democratic Party, that I have plenty of legitimate things to bitch about when it comes to both President Clinton and James Carville - but unlike the fringe-right and even the 'mainstream' members of the Republican Party, I don't have any problem with reality or facing the facts.

My point is this: If the Democrats can take "The Pepsi Challenge" on international broadcast satellite television as to their knowledge of the bible & their various interpretations thereof, shouldn't Republican candidates also be asked to do the same thing, vis-a-vis THEIR Achilles’ heel? Fred Thompson Officially Sticks His Toe in the Presidential Waters and His Boot Up Your Ass

At his media-packed press conference this afternoon, held within the legendary platinum-and-clubbed baby seal skin walls of the luxurious 98,000 acre gold and diamond encrusted ballroom of the federally-funded "Ronald Reagan Memorial Library and Public Policy Center for The Soul Purpose of Naming Things After Ronald Reagan", Mr. Fred Thompson formally announced that he was launching a Presidential exploratory committee.

To set himself apart from the other assorted troglodytes and cro-magnons seeking the GOP's Presidential nominations for the '08 race, Mr. Thompson has indicated that he will be willing to torture not only suspected terrorists, but randomly chosen American children under five years of age, newborn baby duckies and kittens. He promises to escalate the military hostilities and the violence in the Middle East to include Iran, Syria and even some of the "darker brown" neighborhoods in Washington DC.

His tax policy is basically the same as every other Republican candidate in that it promises to legally exempt from ever paying any taxes what-so-fuggin'-ever, anyone and everyone who inherits or steals multiple billions of dollars from the federal coffers, or from any corporate retirement/investment program and, as a bonus, he promises not to ever indict, prosecute or even say moderately impolite things about any/all crooked corporations or their CEOs.

Regarding science, education and the environment; Fred Thompson's "Let's Just Put The Atmosphere Out of It's Misery" proposal says it all. It has been greeted quite enthusiastically by very environmentally conscious groups such as Exxon, Sunoco and Smog-Belching Phucked-Up Hell Machines Inc. Mr. Thompson's appeal to evangelical Christians is obvious and constitutes an almost text-book example of the GOP's traditional history of right-wing pandering at it's very finest. Mr. Thompson says that he opposes not only same sex marriages but he also indicates he's willing to stone people to death just for being of the same gender and riding together in compact motor vehicles.

Although Mr. Thompson knows full-well that the earth is about 4.567 billion years old, he has assured the Christian Coalition that he will help them - in even blatantly illegal ways - to trick yet another generation of semi-literate legally-married first-cousin-couples to brain-bleach their own profoundly retarded homeschooled children with horrific and openly dishonest anti-science initiatives right out of the dark ages and he promises them unlimited government funding for spreading their idiotic religious ignorance and hateful rhetoric via world-wide broadcasting capabilities using tax-free space-based equipment owned by the American public, allowing them 24-7 begging and scam marketing access to the mindless American citizens - over all the already existing constellations of 700 Club and PTL telecommunication satellite TV networks. He has also promised that he will actively seek-out and grant complete unmonitored access to the public schools to any and all of the faith-based groups most resembling the Branch Davidians and the People's Temple Suicide Cult.

Mr. Thompson also favors revoking the Bill of Rights and taking back the rights of black people and women to vote or to speak openly in public, calling these things "a massive historical mistake". Mr. Thompson said that laws should be enacted immediately to legalize a man's God-Given right to beat the Dixie Chicks to death with a tube sock full of roofing nails, he said that he would personally skin New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin alive and that, within his first 20 minutes in office, he'd sign an executive order making the ownership of hand-grenades, bazookas and briefcase-sized personal thermonuclear devices mandatory. He has also publicly advocated the summary executions of all federal judges appointed by Democrats so that they can be promptly replaced by Eric Robert Rudolph and other abortion clinic bombers.

Mr. Thompson has also expressed an interest in cloning either Adolph Hitler or Augusto Pinochet, failing that, he's already said to have been contacting Satan himself to be his Vice Presidential running-mate. This is NOT a black vs white issue. This is NOT a males vs females issue. I'm a white male and I KNOW the truth when I hear it, so I know that Rev. Sharpton said it right when he commented that "until white men got mad" about this kind of treatment, aimed at ANYONE'S daughter, of any color, then people like Imus and Bernie would keep getting away with it.

I'm just SICK OF THEM ALL. For the last six years it's been nothing but racism, sexism, mean and untruthful attacks on good people, heroic individuals, the best and the brightest of the people we should be teaching our children to look up to, to respect and to use as positive shining examples of what our species can be, these good and decent people have been brutally and endlessly smeared by the conservative right-wing scum of the earth.

There's a revolution coming dammit. I want ALL of the swift-boaters swift-boated. I want all the lap dog suck-up media sh!t-canned.

Fine. MSNBC wants everybody to make nice and help their boy get all rehabilitated, then FINE! As a white man, (not one of those he smeared) I personally forgive Don Imus. FURTHERMORE, Don Imus should leave those girls on the basketball team alone, they aren't Bush/Troops photo-ops. Those girls are human beings who ARE NOT on his payroll and they have absolutely NO DUTY whatsoever to help Don Imus orchestrate in his fake rehabilitation tour.

They should keep their dignity, and they should not give Don Imus ONE OUNCE of it.
